For most people in New York, there is one or more members of the family that are a bit more hairy than the rest of us. We have a little, or big, fur baby that is truly part of our family.

The fun part of having a pet is that you can have some fun with their name. You can get a bit crazy when it comes to your pet's name. For example, we named our cat Stamp because she was found in a mailbox. Of course, everything we tell someone her name, we have to tell them the story behind it.

Some people like to get creative with their pet names and other people enjoy using classic names. From names like Rex and Daisy to Mr. Paw-fur-et and Samson, every pet's name is just as unique as them.

The website trustedhousesitters.com recently conducted a poll to find the most popular pet names in New York.

Looking at the names that made the list this year, it seems people are going with more traditional names for their pets. With these names, the problem is, sometimes when you start calling your pet, a person might come running. There are a lot more Maxs and Lucys humans than Stamps.
