I wonder how many African-American youth know who Toni Morrison is (was) as well as wonder how many ever read anymore.  I've chosen to begin this way because the loss of Toni Morrison represents more than a loss of a Great, Legendary Author ... it also signifies a loss of INFLUENCE which. in many walks of life among African-Americans, never existed to begin with.

Toni Morrison was the 1st African-American Woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1983 and has died from pneumonia at 88.
