Having trust issues with a significant other can cause more turmoil than being beneficial.

Delilah explains to a loyal listener that it's not worth being with someone you can't trust.

Dear Delilah,

I have a boyfriend who goes running on a specific morning each week with a female friend. I feel at this point in our relationship it is inappropriate and unhealthy to meet with opposite sex friends alone. I asked him if he would still go with her when we move in together. He laughed at me and replied of course he would. He hasn’t once invited me to go with them. How can I get him to understand my feelings when he says he wouldn’t ask me to give up anyone? I’m not even suggesting he give up his friend. I just don't want him to meet with her alone. Is that too much to ask? April

Dear April,
What’s not healthy here is your insecurity. If you don’t feel you can trust your boyfriend, don’t be with him. If you believe he is having an intimate relationship with his running partner, then don’t date him! If you’re also a runner, or would be interested in training with him, then ask him to include you and see what he says. It might bring the two of you closer to have an activity you enjoy doing together. But to put it simply, if you trust him, you have to stop trying to control him. If you don’t trust him, it’s time to move on. Delilah
