So how can you prevent this from happening?  The remedies range from simple to expensive.

Ice adheres to our windshield wipers at the most inopportune times, like today. There are many ways to keep your wiper blades free of ice build-up. From covers to shakers to de-icers...

  • Heated Windshield Washer Fluid - The system heats washer fluid to 130 degrees Fahrenheit and is dispensed from the vehicle’s factory washer reservoir. A device is mounted near the vehicle’s engine compartment and connects to the vehicle battery. Once the vehicle is operating, the washer fluid is heated and is dispersed whenever the driver activates the washer system.

  • Heated Windshield Wipers - Everblades is one such product that works in conjunction with the vehicle defrost system. These wiper blades have heating elements inside that radiate heat and prevent the buildup of ice.

  • Wiper Shaker - A small motor attaches to the arm of your wiper blades and shakes the wipers.

  • Winter Wiper Blades
