Year after year we are exposed to an apparent rise in gun violence in our country. If you have not noticed this, you may after watching a few minutes of these television shows featuring the problem. I've chosen six reality TV shows that are based on real life events in a variety of cities throughout The United States of America that sadly, focus on gun violence tragedies.

In this episode of Forensic Files, a talented television news anchor was shot to death outside her home. It appeared to be a crime of passion and jealousy.

The show The First 48 gives us minute by minute details of the process and procedures officers and detectives use to catch criminals. This segment of a show focused on the shooting death of Jaunte Williams.

The CBS program called 48 Hours originally focused on hot topics and current events which occurred within a 48-hour period. Over the years, crime, often involving guns, became the story lines.

What an impact America’s Most Wanted had in the world of law enforcement, criminal prosecution and television. It's a shame it's been canceled. It's host John Walsh can still be found hunting down criminals on CNN's The Hunt With John Walsh.

This television show Cops has been on the air since 1989. In this episode you'll see an officer being shot at.

And finally there is a new groundbreaking television show out of Philadelphia that helps teenagers become more aware of the awful reality of gun violence. It's called Cradle to Grave.

How do you feel about the gun violence problem in our nation?  Do we even have a problem? Are legislators violating the Second Amendment with excessive gun control?

Perhaps you feel that our founding fathers wrote the First Amendment first for a reason. If something in our great nation threatens life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it must be dealt with.

You're comments are welcome, thanks!
