Like the Zac Brown Band said when their monster hit was everywhere back in 2008: "you know I like my chicken fried."

Fried chicken is one of the most universally loved foods around and while Buffalo is more well-known for foods such as wings, beef on weck, and sponge candy; great fried chicken is something you can absolutely find in Western New York.

Fried chicken sandwiches to be more specific and there are incredible local places that serve up tasty fried chicken sandwiches.

For the last week or two, Buffalo Eats (who posts all things Buffalo food) has been having a fried chicken sandwich tournament and we're down to the final two Buffalo restaurants with the best-fried chicken sandwich.

Mister Sizzle's and Fattey Beer Company.

As of writing this, they're essentially tied in voting with just over four hours remaining in the voting.

Mister Sizzle's hasn't been around long but they're gaining a huge reputation for their fantastic burgers, fries, and milkshakes. They also have a fried chicken sandwich and it's worthy of the accolades. They defeated Britesmith Brewing's sandwich for the right to go to the final, which is a great accomplishment because Britesmith has an amazing fried chicken sandwich.

Fattey Beer Company only has one main menu item for food and it's their great fried chicken sandwich with comes with pickles and a special sauce. It comes with a bag of chips and my goodness does it hit the spot!

If you have never had these sandwiches, definitely change that, because the hype is very real.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
