There are more and more companies looking to expand or move to Western New York for several reasons. We have an amazing workforce, located right next to the Canadian border, and have plenty of access for transportation and shipping.

Another reason for corporations to have their headquarters here in the City of No Illusions is that Buffalo is smack dap in the middle of the Northeastern Trade Corridor.

Over 80% of all U.S.-Canada trade occurs along the border on the East Coast and with five international bridges, Buffalo is a major hub for international trade.

Also, some companies got their start as part of 43 North's Buffalo Billion program, which gives away $5 million dollars every year to startups. Some of the winners have decided to stay here in Western New York which again is helping build Buffalo's reputation in the business world.

Some of these companies were born here in Western New York and while they expanded all over the world, they forgot their roots and continue to operate out of the 716. Other companies found exactly what they needed and put down roots here in Western New York.

No matter the reason, these companies have become the heartbeat of the region and because of their work here in Western New York, people in Buffalo and across the region have a better standard of living and have a reason to be proud to say, "I am from Buffalo"
