Spring is a time for new life, and they've got some at The Buffalo Zoo! Welcome two new lion cubs to our city.
It doesn't get much cuter than this. The Buffalo Zoo is proud to announce that they've got two new lives in their dens and they're doing well.
The two new cubs were born on March 7th to mother Lusaka and father Tiberius. And to make it even cooler, they now share a birthday with their father (Tiberius) who just turned 8.

“We are thrilled to welcome these cubs to the Buffalo Zoo family. It’s never a guarantee that newborn animals will survive, but Lusaka is an experienced mom, and she has been doing everything right. Both cubs look healthy and are growing fast.” - Lisa Smith, General Curator at the Buffalo Zoo

Lusaka and Tiberius are parents again, but they aren't new parents. According to WGRZ, this is Lusaka and Tiberius' second litter. In 2016, Lusaka gave birth to three cubs, Asha, Amirah, and Roary.

As it always is with newborns at the zoo, they won't be available to be viewed by the public right away.  They will give them a little time to acclimate to their new environment and to continue to safely nurse from their mother.

We don't know the genders of the cubs yet or if they have names.  What we do know is that they are healthy, growing, and currently weigh seven pounds each.  They're cute now but they definitely have some growing to do.  Male lions can grow to over 400 pounds...and females are around 280.
