WIVB reports the carmaker's AI and autonomous vehicle technologies are coming to the Buffalo Gigafactory, and they're hiring.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz shared the news via Twitter today.

Tesla is seeking applicants for position in manufacturing, engineering and IT, human resources, finance, and service and energy installation.

Earlier today, Germany elevated Tesla's Autopilot technology to Level 4 autonomy, which means the vehicle has the "ability to navigate, steer, accelerate and brake without the presence of a driver."

The Driven reports:

“Germany will be the first country in the world to bring autonomous vehicles from its research laboratories onto the road,” said federal minister Andreas Scheuer, of Germany's ministry for transport and digital infrastructure.

The German government aims to bring the laws into regular operation by 2022. Here in the US, only California, Florida, Michigan and Nevada have laws that "allow the testing of autonomous vehicles with appropriate certification."
