News surfaced over the weekend that with the departure of Meteorologist Stevie Daniels at NEWS 4 BUFFALO (WIVB-TV) a local favorite is returning, at least temporarily. The unofficial Dean of Western New York weather, Don Paul announced his return on his Facebook page over the weekend.

HEAT ADVISORY goes into effect for Genesee, Niagara, Northern Erie, Southern Erie, Orleans, and Wyoming counties from 12 PM through 7 PM today

WIVB-TV Meteorologist Mike Cejka tells us there will be a window for rain showers early today with some of that rain lasting through about mid-morning.

Our News 4 (WIVB-TV) Meteorologists tell us that during the early morning hours, a mix of snow and rain showers will spread northward into the Southern Tier. It will take some time for this precip to reach the Buffalo metro and is currently timing out around mid-morning today.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown will announce at his 1 pm news conference that both St. Patrick's Day parades scheduled for this weekend in the City will be canceled.

Buffalo is one of the BEST places in the country to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
