The moon appeared larger than normal because the moon was just 59 minutes past its closest approach to Earth in 2015 at mid-eclipse, sometimes called a supermoon...
Sunday evening, despite some possible clouds rolling in, keep an eye to the sky.
Not only is it a "supermoon", but it will be immediately followed by a full lunar eclipse.
It only happens once every 30 years.
