A ways back, we’d heard that the ever-clever MacGyver had reinvented himself with a new CBS series under Furious 7 helmer James Wan, returning to that faithful well of a young origin story. That dream is today reality for he Eye, as CBS grants an official pilot order to a new generation of MacGyver, with sexy results.

The Fast and Furious franchise wouldn’t be where it is now without Vin Diesel. The films didn’t even kick into high gear until Diesel returned for 2009’s Fast and Furious, and the box-office numbers have been climbing astronomically since then. While it’s obvious that the more ludicrous action scenes are created with the help of CGI, a new behind-the-scenes featurette has revealed that one of the most insane scenes from the Fast and Furious 7 trailer is real. Yes, they really did drop a fleet of parachute-equipped muscle cars out of an airplane.
