When I was in middle school the list of items you could not bring was a short one. No radios, candy, gum, or squirt guns. For some reason squirt guns were a big problem. Now it’s a much more sophisticated list!

The issue of what age is appropriate for a child to have a cell phone can be explosive.  Some parents absolutely refuse to allow their middle school student to have one, while there are preschoolers in other families walking around with cell phones they clearly don't know how to use.  We've all seen it.  So What age is the best to finally give in to your child's constant begging for one?

As frustrating as cell phones are, I still love them. You can communicate with the universe from any corner of the planet when you can get a signal. You can stay in touch with your closest friends and family members when they remember to turn their phones on...
