Sweet Corn Flavored Ice Cream Available In Eden

The summer of 2021 has been exciting so far! Although it has been wet for the most part this month, some great events are still happening and planned for the rest of the summer as well! One of the benefits of the rain and hot and muggy days is that corn grows very well in this particular type of weather.

The Eden chamber of commerce has announced that there will be a new flavor of ice cream available when folks arrive to attend the Eden Corn Festival this August.

According to a news release that was sent to us here at WYRK, this will be the first time ever that the Eden Chamber of Commerce will be serving sweet corn ice cream along with their chicken barbecue at the corn festival.

Eden Chamber of Commerce Board Member and local farmer, Matthew Agle, in partnership with Main St. Ice Cream of Hamburg, NY have created a new treat to add to the long list of concessions available at the Eden Corn Festival this year. For the first time ever, the Eden Chamber of Commerce will be serving Sweet Corn Ice Cream in addition to their annual chicken barbeque. Made with a delicious blend of Eden’s famous sweet corn in combination with handcrafted ice cream, this novelty treat is definitely worth a try!

The Eden corn festival is just another great tradition that we all missed in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers have worked hard to put together this year‘s event that will become the 57th annual corn festival happening August 5 through the eighth on the Legion grounds in Eden off of Route 62.

August is going to be a big month with festivals like the corn fest and of course the return of the Erie County Fair and other regional fairs and the New York state fair. It is going to be interesting to be among a large crowd again after over a year and a half of guidelines and restrictions. Keep in mind that Many will still be trying to practice social distancing in some fashion and organizers will also make sure that things are as safe as healthy as possible. But with great treats and exciting new flavors of ice cream like sweet corn ice cream, it sure will be great to be back celebrating our great Western New York events.
