She's one of the world's most renown sopranos.

Renee Fleming will sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVIII. She will be the first opera singer to have the honor. Last year, Alicia Keys sang the anthem. Others who have performed the anthem at the Super Bowl include Cher, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson and The Dixie Chicks.

Fleming is a four-time Grammy Award winner and a 14-time nominee.

Fleming was born on February 14, 1959, in Pennsylvania and grew up in Rochester. She went to collage at SUNY Potsdam. She an incredibly accomplished opera singer, and I'm looking forward to hear her version of the anthem.
