The Sun is at it again...sunspots have been observed this week and sunspots produce solar flares (explosions on the surface of the sun).

These explosions often times have colorful results in the earth's atmosphere, The Aurora Borealis, most commonly known as the Northern Lights. The last time there were solar flares of the magnitude registered this week it produced Northern Lights seen in Ohio and even farther south.

If you are up late enough tonight, it might be worth putting on a jacket and turning your eyes to the night sky to see if you can get a glimpse of the Northern Lights. After all you do have an extra hour of sleep, so do a little star gazing, and let us know what you see. If you are not feeling adventurous check out the video from National Geographic.
