According to 4 Warn Weather there are two things we’re watching for this week,

News 4 Meteorologists say..remnant moisture from what was hurricane Barry, then truly oppressive heat, and humidity which may send heat indices to around 100 toward the end of the week.

Humidity continues to increase Tuesday becoming oppressive. Scattered thunderstorms possible north, and south of Buffalo. A southwest breeze off Lake Erie will keep the thunderstorms away from the city and burbs during the afternoon. Some locally heavy downpours may accompany the thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms continue to increase as remnant moisture from Barry makes inroads into the region Wednesday. Tropical downpours may result in some localized poor drainage flooding.  That moisture exits the area Thursday-Friday but with that a significant increase in the heat, both temperature, and humidity.
