This is just one more round of tough news for student athletes to take this year. Football had been postponed until the spring of 2021 IF things start to get better. Even with a vaccine on the horizon, there are those who feel that it may still be risky for things to get back to the way it used to be.

However, the numbers have shown that the spread of COVID-19 within schools has been minimal. The spread of cases is most likely related to outside contact or community spread and not classmate to classmate. Many districts can be proud of the fact that they have been able to stay ahead of any "outbreak" among the student body.

It has been refreshing, at least in the Hamburg district, to have constant updates from our Superintendent. Local school officials and teachers and staff have worked around the clock to keep things as safe and clean as possible for those who still attend in person.

Because of the "Yellow" designation and possible turn to "Orange," schools are switching to fully remote learning as of 11/23. Parents, students and certainly student-athletes, are hoping that by January 4th things can pick up and get back to competition.
