Every year Shea's releases the list of plays and musicals for the year.  The announcement came out today and there are some you're not going to want to miss.

The announcement was made on their website this afternoon!

On the list this year are:

The Prom

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical

Come From Away

Hades Town

Beetlejuice The Musical

Six The Musical

Jagged Little Pill

Aladdin

Dear Evan Hansen

Aladdin and Dear Evan Hansen will be included in the season as "Special Events."

The popular pick in our house is definitely "Come From Away."  It's described as a true story about a group of passengers who are welcomed by a town in Newfoundland.  It's coming back to Sheas (it was here in October of 2019) so if you missed it the first time, this will be a perfect time to go see it (or see it again).

Obviously Beetlejuice will be a popular one because it's based on the well known movie from the 80's that starred Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice.  I'm curious to see this one just because I haven't seen it before and always want to see how closely musicals mirror the movies that inspired them.

Dear Evan Hansen is hugely popular too. It's won Grammy's and Tony's and now we get it in Buffalo.  If you haven't seen this one, The New York Times calls it “a gorgeous musical for anyone with a beating heart."  This one is going to be big.

And of course to round it out, a Disney Musical based on the movie Aladdin.  It's arguably one of the most popular Disney films with some of the most recognizable songs.

This season is going to be huge at Shea's.  Season tickets are available now at Sheas.org, through the Shea's App or by phone at 716-847-0850.
