Scary Carjacking Attempts On The Rise In WNY

There has been a string of very dangerous and scary carjackings in Rochester a few of it's surrounding towns. Police in the area have issued an alert and a warning to drivers to be aware of your surroundings and stay in your vehicle.

In some cases, a car will bump in to a vehicle from behind and when the victim exits the vehicle, the carjacking or robbery will take place.

This can occur at just about any time of the day and is not limited to any particular town or city. If you are hit from behind in your vehicle, stay inside and call 911.

If you are involved in a situation described above, you should remain in your vehicle with the doors locked, call 911 immediately and if possible, leave the location for a public place or police station to seek assistance.
