Safetly Alert Issued at UB’s North Campus [VIDEO]

Campus security at the University at Buffalo's North Campus sent out an alert to all students, faculty and visitors on campus regarding reports of a man with a handgun.

The alert went out shortly after 4:00P.M. on Monday after police received an unconfirmed report of a man in the general area of the Student Union who dropped a handgun, picked it up and placed it back in his waistband, and then took off.

The man is described as a bald, black male wearing a hoodie with baggy white sweatpants and black underwear. He was also carrying a red backpack.

Police were unable to find a man matching the description, but also do not feel that there in any immediate threat.

University Police have increased their patrols on campus, and are asking for anyone with information to call 716.645.222
