Reservations Needed for Six Flags Darien Lake; No Cash To Be Used At The Park

Big news on Friday morning, as Six Flags Darien Lake announced their reopening date for the 2021 season, which will be May 21st. That announcement comes two days after Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all outdoor amusement parks in the state would be allowed to reopen starting on April 9th.

However, as you would expect, there are plenty of new guidelines you need to know before attending the theme park, as well as how to purchase tickets.

According to WKBW, the park will have attendance caps (limits) and reservations for tickets must be put in place on the company's site before your park visit. That includes day pass users and season ticket holders.

The park will only be accepting credit and debit payments as well, with no cash used, according to their new safety guidelines.

When you make a reservation to visit, you will be contacted the day before by text or email to confirm your intent to visit, along with your health update. You can cancel your scheduled date to visit before 8 a.m. on the day you're scheduled to arrive, according to WIVB.

There will also be these safety measures in place at Six Flags Darien Lake:

• Thermal imaging temperature checks for guests and employees.
• Face masks or coverings for anyone over the age of 2; anyone without a mask can purchase one at the front gate.
• Guests will be separated by empty rows on rides, such as roller coasters.
• Social distancing will be practiced when in line, sitting down to eat, and viewing attractions.
• Modified food menus and mobile ordering will be in place to create touchless transactions.
