It's been awhile since Buffalo fans have seen Jaret Patterson here in Buffalo, but he's about to suit up in the queen city again.  Only this time, it'll be against the Bills.

You may remember the name Jaret Patterson from his time playing for the UB Bulls.  He really was a superstar running back who couldn't be stopped at UB Stadium.  He's a record holder here.  As it stands right now he holds the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision record for most rushing touchdowns in a single game along with Howard Griffith with eight. However, those records wouldn't continue to be broken at UB. Last year he announced that he would be forfeiting his senior year there in order to declare himself eligible for the NFL Draft.

The draft didn't go as he had dreamed.  He didn't get drafted in any round.  However, he did get to sign as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Football Team in May.  Then he secured his spot on the 53 man roster.

That means that he will be coming back to Buffalo this weekend and will be playing for the first time ever at Highmark Stadium...only instead of in a Buffalo uniform, he will be running for Washington.

He tells WKBW that it's been good playing in Washington.  He's got a lot of veterans to learn from and he's playing a long game.

"This is not a 3-4 year type thing. This is a career. That's my shift and mindset. You have to trust the process, come to work everyday, get better, and take advantage of every opportunity." - Jaret Patterson

It's always great news to see a young Buffalo player go on and succeed in the NFL.  This weekend though, we just hope he doesn't succeed too much.

Best of luck Jaret!
