Popular Buffalo Festivals Planning To Return This Summer

Two popular Buffalo festivals are making plans to return this summer, after having been canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier today, A Taste of Buffalo announced the popular festival will return in July.

The Buffalo News reports:

"This year we're looking to bring the community back to us in a single venue," said Amber Hartman, chairwoman of this year's Taste of Buffalo 2021.

As well, another organization announced plans to go ahead with its annual summer festival.

Long thought of as the official start to summer, the June Allentown Art Festival is readying for their event, with applications for artists now being accepted.

According to the Buffalo News, the Lewiston Art Festival and the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts, both held in August, are also making plans for 2021. The News notes other notable events are in the planning stages, including the Buffalo Garden Walk in July, Canal Fest, and Ride for Roswell.

A statement on the website for the Allentown Art Festival association says:

"Though the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic is still active we are in the process of planning for our 2021 64th Art Festival and looking forward to being together with you."

To mitigate the issue of crowds -- still a public health concern for coronavirus spread -- the Taste of Buffalo is planning to issue tickets to several sessions two days of the event to spread out guests.

Mask mandates are also expected to continue through the summer.
