One of the most progressive men to occupy the office of the pontiff is set to visit the United States in 2015.

Pope Francis will visit the east coast during a six-day stretch in September, after arriving from Cuba.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 22 — Pope Francis arrives in the United States.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23 — Pope Francis will spend the day in Washington, D.C. meeting with President Obama, followed by afternoon with bishops of the U.S.
  • Thursday, Sept. 24 — The Pope will spend the morning in Washington, followed by a visit to New York City. While in NYC, Pope Francis will pray at St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 6:45P.M.
  • Friday, Sept. 25 — Pope Francis will spend the day in New York City visiting the United Nations, the 9/11 Memorial at the World Trade Center, and a school in east Harlem. The pontiff will hold a Mass at Madison Square Garden at 6:00P.M.
  • Saturday, Sept. 26 — Pope Francis will travel from New York City to Philadelphia, where he’ll celebrate Mass at 10:30A.M. at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul before visiting locations in Philadelphia.
  • Sunday, Sept. 27 — The Pope will meet with bishops from the United States in the morning, and celebrate Mass at 4:00P.M. at Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The pontiff will depart for Rome at 8:00P.M.
