The Pope's first visit to America continues today with several scheduled activities in New York City.

The Pope's chartered American Airlines plane touched down at JFK airport on Thursday afternoon, where a 200-person welcoming party was awaiting the Pontiff's arrival.

The Pope was then flown into Manhattan via helicopter, where He held a prayer service at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Pope Francis will speak to the United Nations General Assembly today, where he will have another opportunity to speak with world leaders.

The Pontiff will also visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center, and attend a multi-religious service while He is there. This afternoon, He will visit an East Harlem Catholic school and then celebrate Mass at Madison Square Garden.
