How many times has this happened to you?  You find the perfect parking spot.  It’s open…it’s close…but because of someone else, you can’t park there.

This happens all too often.

It’s not that you can’t walk.  You probably don’t even mind a couple of extra steps.  But sometimes it’s nice to get the closer spot.  And if you can’t park there because someone else parked poorly it gets annoying. Especially when it appears that the poor parker did it purposely.

I’ll let you decide who you think is the bigger jerk, then I’ll lay out the scenario for you.

It just happened today.  I get to work and I see this…

Notice how closely the minivan is parked to them.  Also notice that the blue SUV is over the line.  This is the second time this week that this has happened.  I know, because I’ve tried to park next to them before only to realize that there was no way I wasn’t going to get door dinged when they tried to get in their car.  There was just no way.

Did they do it on purpose because it’s a Lexus and they don’t want someone to park next to them?  Last time I checked, just because you pay for an expensive car, it doesn’t give you the right to take up two spots in the lot.

Let’s not get out the torches and pitchforks yet.  Is it possible that they just didn’t realize they were over the line?  If they got there early in the morning and it was dark, maybe they just didn’t see it.  It doesn’t make them a jerk, but they should be more careful.

Is the person in the white vehicle in the wrong because even though they knew they were too close they just left their vehicle there?  No big deal...just park somewhere else...

I say no!  This person in the Lexus needs to learn how to park.  Either that, or next time they’re going to have a fun time trying to get in their car from the passenger door!

13 Things Buffalonians Got REALLY Hyped For

15 Things That Will Convince Anyone You're a Western New York Native

Buffalonians have a way of spotting one another even across great distances, like the time I ran into a couple from Alden while in line for an empanada in Key West. But what about if you're new here? Is there a learning curve to being part of the City of Good Neighbors?
