New York State Police were in Chautauqua County on Tuesday searching for the body of a woman who has been missing since 2008.

Corrie Anderson was reported missing on October 28, 2008, when she didn't pick her children up from school. Police found her abandoned vehicle in a field a few days later, which launched a massive manhunt that went eventually went cold.

Officers said that they have compiled a host of tips over the past eight years that lead to yesterday's search. The search was centered within a mile-and-a-half of where Corrie's vehicle found eight-years ago.

Authorities conducted the search because the conditions were just right... No snow, no foliage on the trees, and the sun was not blazing down on the searchers. New technology also gave authorities a reason to re-visit the area.

State Police commented that it may be a while before they know if any evidence collected could help to break the case.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Corrie Anderson is asked to contact New York State Police Troop A at (585)-344-6200.
