Plastic Straws and Stirrers Are Officially Banned In East Aurora

It was big news last year was news that all plastic straws and stirrers would eventually be banned in East Aurora.

Even though some restaurants and bars got rid of plastic straws, now everyone in East Aurora can't use plastic straws or stirrers.

All straws must be compostable.

According to WIVB, the ban went into effect yesterday and businesses that violate the law will be warned for their first violation and $100 for the second violation.

The fines will increase with every violation.
