All is well today at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport after a United Airlines Flight skidded off the runway late Sunday night.

United flight 3796 from Washington, D.C. to Buffalo, N.Y.circled the airport for 20 to 30 minutes before landing, as the plane passed the runway before the wheels touched down. The plane then skidded off of the pavement and into a grass covered "safety zone."

Passengers on board the flight say that the pilot announced that a gust of wind is to blame for the plane skidding off the runway. Emergency crews responded immediately and no injuries were reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration will be performing a thorough investigation today.
