Those Vietnam Memorial traveling walls that come thru Western New York from time to time will become a permanent display at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora.  A new Veterans Memorial to be constructed on the grounds of the park will be eight feet tall and 360 feet long and will display the names of the almost 60,000 veterans killed during the Vietnam War.

It will be an 80% scale model of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington and will serve as the centerpiece of a larger venue that will be dedicated to the memory of veterans involved in conflicts dating to the Revolutionary War. The idea is to create a national tourist destination.

The cost to bring a permanent Vietnam Memorial to Knox Farm will be approximately $475,000 in private funds.  To help raise some of that money a custom motorcycle by Orange County Choppers will be auctioned off.  The bike was featured on a February, 2019 episode of the show.

You can see that Chopper during an event on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th from 4 to 7 pm at the Aurora Theatre, 673 Main Street in East Aurora.  Meet the founder of Orange County Choppers, Paul Teutul in person.

Donations to the WNY Veterans Memorial can be made on their website WNY Veterans Memorial.

Officials hope to have the Veterans Wall completed by spring 2020.
