In the true spirit that art can be anywhere, a Paris gallery is setting up (temporary) shop in a "pop-up" gallery space in an abandoned school gymnasium in Black Rock.

The Buffalo News reports, "on May 17, Buffalonians and New York City-based art aficionados will be on hand for the opening of an exhibition mounted by Paris-based Galerie PACT featuring work by the American painter Michael Bevilacqua."

Pop-up gallery spaces aren't new to major metropolitan areas, and even Buffalo for that matter. Recently, a Buffalo collective took over an abandoned drugstore to stage an art show inspired by David Lynch of Twin Peaks fame.

You can view Michael Bevilacqua's show "EXHziTIbitio. N. Title. [A.r E—A X ] Gymnesia" at the opening reception May 17 at 5pm. The show runs through June 30 at the former St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, 147 East St. Regular hours are 11am to 4pm Wed-Sun, and 1-7pm on Thursdays.
