Police in Orchard Park are investigation an apparent murder-suicide that took place sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Authorities say that a family member discovered the bodies of 51-year-old Rudy Stiglmeir and 53-year-old David Lewczyk in the bedroom of Stiglmeir's home on Queens Place.

Police believe that David Lewczyk shot his girlfriend, Rudy Stiglmeir, three times with a registered handgun, and then took his own life with a gunshot to the head.

The couple has had a few run-ins with police in the past, including a domestic incident this past December. Lewczyk was also supposed to appear in court in April regarding felony charges brought against him after violating a 'stay away' order of protection.

Police are now awaiting toxicology results, which could take up to 8 weeks to get back, but also asking for the public's help in solving this case.

Anyone who may have spoken with Lewczyk or Stiglmeir before their deaths is asked to contact Orchard Park police.
