A 21-year-old man from Orchard Park is in custody after leading police on a chase through the woods on Tuesday. Orchard Park Police responded to a "burglary in progress" call at a home on Stonehenge Drive after the homeowner saw a man leaving her garage with her bike as she pulled into her driveway.

The homeowner chased the suspect on foot into the woods near her home, and police say that his shoes got stuck in the mud, but he continued to run through several neighborhoods.

Authorities finally caught up with Evan Lynch in the Birdsong neighborhood, and charged him with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.

Police also found Lynch in possession of powder cocaine, and charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Evan Lynch was committed to the Erie County Holding Center after not being able to post bail.
