Since it was first introduced, the Old Farmer's Almanac was used to predict the weather for the planting seasons in and around North America. The almanac is used by many farmers to help identify when is the best time to plant crop seeds, when it is time to harvest, and when you water and till. People outside of farmers use the almanac for weather information.

In an interview with skimagazine.com, the editor of the almanac Tim Goodwin stated that their predictions were around 80% correct.

WHAT IS THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC PREDICTION FOR MAY?

Looking ahead to the long-range forecast, the Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for a warmer-than-normal month of May across New York. It is calling for an average temperature of around 61 degrees, which would be 2 degrees warmer than the average for this time of year.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is also calling for around an average amount of precipitation for the area. The average amount of precipitation is 4 inches.

This is good news if you are sick of the cold weather so far this Spring, but remember the Old Farmer's Almanac is only 80% correct.
