The Meteorologists at News 4 Buffalo, WIVB-TV tell us to begin the month of October we will likely again be dealing with lake effect showers with breaks of sunshine. Breezy conditions, with gusts topping off around 30mph a bit calmer than the winds that buffeted the area yesterday.

Showers will be mainly south of Buffalo early Thursday before making their way back north into the afternoon and early evening.  Rain chances linger into Friday.  Friday night into Saturday another cold front will arrive bringing clouds a few more showers.

Grab the jacket as you head out for your weekend activities.

Aside from those scattered showers early Saturday, the weekend will likely start with some breaks in the clouds and mostly dry conditions.  We will see clouds increasing along with a chance for more showers from Sunday evening into early Monday.  Much of next week will feature milder temperatures.

THURSDAY: Cool, Lake Effect Showers Shift North to Metro Buffalo, Spotty Showers with Breaks of Sun for the Afternoon, Chance of Waterspouts, High: 55-60.

FRIDAY: Cloudy and Cool with the chance for a few Morning Showers, Waterspouts are again possible,  High: 56.

SATURDAY: Cool, An Early Shower is a possibility then Mostly Cloudy, High: 55

SUNDAY: More Clouds Than Sun, Rain Arriving late in the day High: 57

Monday through Wednesday of next week should see a return to the 60's with more seasonable temperatures mid or late week.

Note: Waterspouts were reported by some Canadian observers late Wednesday afternoon on Lake Ontario near St. Catherines according to Niagara_411.
