NYS Given The Authority To Approve Sports Betting

The Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law banning sports betting.

In a 6-3 decision yesterday by The Supreme Court every state has the authority to legalize it now. Check out the comment by Jeff Darlington on Sports Gambling:

Out of the judges,Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor were the dissenting judges.  Justice Stephen Breyer dissented on one issue, but otherwise agreed with the decision. The dissenters thought the law could be amended or pared down, without being entirely repealed.

Lord knows what this will entail or even if NYS would consider legalizing it. They are on the list as an "Interested" in legalizing. According to a new study, 32 states are on the list to legalizing sports gambling in one form or another.

To be honest, don't we usually play the fantasy football at work? This has been going on for years. I don't see much of a difference. My suggestion is know your limit and stay within it. Don't go betting your retirement or kids college funds.
