According to Stephen Marph of Spectrum News Buffalo, this clip seems to show Governor Cuomo stating that chicken wings weren't substantial enough for bars to be allowed to serve alcohol.

Here's the Cuomo quote:

"To be a bar, you had to have food available. Soups, sandwiches, etc.

More than just hors d'oeuvres, chicken wings -- you had to have some substance of food.

The lowest level of substance of food were sandwiches."

Buffalo Twitter, let's just say, didn't take the apparent news too well. As many of us know, wings are regularly a meal here in Western New York.

However, later in the day, state spokesperson Jack Sterne clarified that wings ARE on the list for substantial food to order alcohol in New York State. Here's his tweet.

I was on the golf course with a couple of friends when news of this broke and it spread like wildfire across the entire course. It wasn't until later on Thursday when I caught up on what was said and the confusion it caused.

Wings are a meal, especially in Buffalo, make no mistake.
