NHL Postpones Sabres Games Through at Least February 8th

Very unfortunate news for the Buffalo Sabres and their fans on Tuesday evening.

According to the NHL, they have postponed all of the Sabres games through at least February 8th because of COVID-19 protocol. They have also shut down team facilities.

Earlier on Tuesday, the league postponed the Sabres game tonight against the New York Islanders due to COVID-19 protocols. John Vogl of The Athletic reports that forward Taylor Hall and defenceman Rasmus Ristolainen are the Sabres who have entered the protocol.

This comes on the heels of 14 New Jersey Devils' players being placed on the COVID-19 protocol list. Since the Sabres just played back-to-back games against New Jersey this past weekend, you can see why the Sabres have been shut down for the time being.

That doesn't mean the Sabres are thrilled with this happening. According to Vogl, the Sabres are "furious" with how this situation was handled that led to the team's schedule being shut down.

We will see when the Sabres finally get to play again or how this will impact the schedule at the end of the season. It's very frustrating news, to say the least.
