NFL Overtime Proposal Would Make Buffalo Bills Very Happy

The Buffalo Bills' season ended without Josh Allen ever having a chance to touch the ball, but next season all that could change.

According to Sports Illustrated, an official proposal was made to the NFL to have the overtime rules changed to allow each team to have at least one possession during overtime in both the regular season and in the playoffs.

The current NFL overtime rules state that a team can win the game with a touchdown on the first possession of overtime. If they fail to score or kick a field goal, the other team has a chance to get the ball and win the game.

The proposal was submitted by the Indianipious Colts and would allow both teams to get a chance to score no matter if the first team scores a touchdown or not.

The Bills lost in the playoffs this season after the Kansas City Chiefs won the coin toss and went on to score a touchdown on the opening drive and score a spot in the AFC Championship game.

The Bills/Chiefs playoff game was one of the best games of the year and showcased two of the most prolific offenses in the NFL.

Josh Allen threw for 329 yards and four touchdowns in the 42-36 loss in the NFL Division Round. He also was the Bills' leading rusher in the game, logging 68 yards on 11 carries.

The NFL Competition Committee will now review the proposal and if the new proposal passes it would impact both the regular and post-season
