According to a post on purewow.com, which put together a list of the eight most beautiful places in New York, the place that lands at number one on the list is truly one of the most beautiful places in the state and the entire country.

The most beautiful place in New York is Canandaigua Lake. Part of the Finger Lakes, Canandaigua Lake is one of the lesser known lakes but that adds to its beauty.

Cool summer evenings along the lake is the perfect place to spend your time hanging out with family and friends. Plus the lake has that small town feel and is surrounded by amazing houses that elevate the beauty instead of distracting you.

The small town of Canandaigua is laid back enough that when you head into town, you feel like you just walked into a Hallmark Movie set. The town along with the lake makes Canandaigua Lake one of the most beautiful places in New York.

I know one of the best times to visit Canandigue Lake is during the 4th of July weekend. They have amazing fireworks, and fun things for the family to do, and usually the weather is pretty amazing so you can spend most of your time along the lakeshore or on the water.

Another time when Canandigue Lake's beauty shines is during the Fall when the leaves start to change color. The lake surrounded by reds and oranges is a sight you don't want to miss.
