New York State’s Largest Outdoor Roller Rink Coming To Buffalo
Get ready to lace up your skates because in August New York State's largest outdoor roller rink is coming to Western New York.
The rink will be constructed at Canalside and will be open to the public on August 20th.
WKBW reported that The Erie County Harbor Development Corporation and the Buffalo Waterfront announced the project to help bring families to the harbor for some summer fun.
The rink will be 30,000 square feet and will be the largest outdoor rink in New York State.
The rink will be open from August 20th thru October 31st and will cost $6 for adults and $2 for children age 13 and younger. You will also be able to rent a pair of skates for $4.
The roller rink will be open Monday thru Thursday from Noon to 7 pm, Fridays from noon until 10 pm, Saturdays from 10 am until 10 pm and Sundays from 10 am until 8 pm.
Those hours will change on September 7th when many area schools return to class. The rink will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, opened on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm until 7 pm, and on Fridays from 3 pm until 10 pm. The hours on Saturday and Sunday will not change.
There will also be several ways you can skate for free on the outdoor rink. There are several programs on tap to let you take advantage of the rink, including Free Skate Fridays where you can skate for free on Fridays before 5 pm. There will also be themed nights and community free skate days where tickets will be given out to different communities in Western New York.
