New York State Makes Major Change With Its Travel Advisory

It's been the toughest year ever if you want to book a vacation out of state. For months, New York State travelers were required to quarantine when returning back to New York. That ended, however, on April 1st and there's been another change in the New York State Travel Advisory.

WKBW reports that international travelers no longer are required to quarantine when returning back to New York State. You can read the update here.

The news comes as a relief to many in foreign countries who have to travel back to New York for professional purposes.

The updated guideline from the state say that "asymptomatic travelers from another country, U.S. state, or territory are no longer required to test or quarantine."

However, the state is still recommending that those who are not fully vaccinate, quarantine upon returning to New York, although it's no longer required.

This doesn't mean you don't have to fill out the New York State Traveler Health Form, because that's still required for travelers. The only exceptions are if the person left the state for less than 24 hours or is coming back from a contiguous state, which includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont.

Those traveling back to New York should still watch out for symptoms upon returning. Fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks after the final dose (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson).

It's been a long time since travelers out-of-state and out-of-country weren't required to quarantine, so if you have a vacation you've been itching to go on, that just became much easier.
