It is beginning to look a lot like winter across Western New York.

After several days of well-above temperatures to kick off 2023 this weekend, the weather will return to normal as a cold front is set to move across the area.

We will see some snow with that cold front, but not as much as we have seen at the end of 2022.

Starting late Thursday night, light snow starts falling and it will be mixed with rain but by the end of the week and heading into the weekend, there should be around 1-3 inches of snow throughout the 716.

Most of the snow will be in the Southern Tier with the snow/rain mix mainly in the metro area and across the Northtowns.

The weather will remain cool through the weekend with some more possible light snow Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
