According to WIVB, Senator Martha McSally, R-Ariz., introduced a bill Monday that would give American taxpayers an annual tax credit of $4,000 annually through 2022, and $8,000 for couples who file taxes jointly. Qualifying children would also receive $500.

It's called the "American Tax Rebate and Incentive Program Act" or the "TRIP Act."

The tax credit can be used domestically for vacation expenses, such as lodging, transportation, live entertainment, along with food and beverage.

The qualifying travel is anywhere in the Untied States and at least 50 miles away from your home residence.

You can read the proposed bill here.

This comes a week after word of a tax credit being given out in a potential second stimulus package.

It looks like lawmakers are looking to get money back into the economy and helping the tourism and hospitality industries.
