Earlier today, I violated every aspect of my diet.

Before 9:30am.

But it was all for the sake of SCIENCE! ;)

Why?  Well, McDonald's just released two new versions of the Big Mac:  the Mac Jr. and the Grand Mac.

They were also giving away a limited amount of bottles of the delicious "special sauce" today.  I threw down the gauntlet to see if my coworkers could identify the real deal...when put up against my "homemade version".

Many of you asked for "my" recipe...I can't claim to have originated it, but I did put a little spin on it.  Here ya go!

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons French dressing
  • 4 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon GRATED white onion (the trick is to use a microplane and grate it...so you get a very fine onion WITH onion juice!)
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Mix it all together, cover and refrigerate.  Stir every couple hours as it chills.  This will make about 3/4 cup of sauce.
