Hopefully you're still going strong with your New Year's resolutions, but if you need a little extra push, we are here to help!

It can be hard to find free time to work out if you have little ones you need to chase and chauffeur from place-to-place. But there are options out there that can help you get some time to yourself, like the Southtowns Family YMCA. They offer child care services that allow you to work out at the facility--swim, run, use the workout machines or even leave your child and run errands! The folks at the Y not only can help you stay healthy, but your children as well.

If you CAN'T make it out to the Y and you still want to keep up with your fitness, there are plenty of options. All you really need is a yoga mat and a little bit of open space, and you can keep up with your personal health commitment. Here are a few exercises you can do on your own:

  • Planking - as demonstrated by Juli above, all you've gotta do is hold yourself up and flex! There are a ton of variations on planking, all working different parts of your core.
  • Bridging - You can tone up your glutes and keep your back in good shape just through some creative stretching and arching.
  • Push-Ups - An oldie but a goodie, this still works out your arms and chest pretty good!
  • Crunches - Like push-ups, this one might seem like a no-brainer, but check out some of the variations on crunches that work out different parts of your stomach. It's not all just up-and down!
