Mayor Byron Brown is asking state lawmakers for money to increase security at Buffalo's City Hall.

Mayor Brown said that more security is needed, cause at the present time there is only one security desk visible on the first floor, in addition to the information desk.

The Mayor met with the Governor's Office and the State Legislature to ask for $1-million to increase security. The money would be used to install cameras through City Hall, bollards on the outside to prevent cars from driving up on the sidewalk, and to hire more personnel.

Mayor Brown said that the city has already received a $50,000 grant from New York State to install metal detectors at the front door.
