Summertime will not officially begin until June 21st, but for most people, Memorial Day Weekend is the official start of summer (which will be this weekend).

Summer is the favorite season of many, and who can blame anyone who chooses summer over the other three seasons? The great weather, lack of snow, and numerous outdoor concerts, festivals and events makes it something we all look forward to.

However, after summer, fall is the season that tops peoples list.

The fall foliage, pumpkin spice, Halloween, apple cider, fall festivals and football -- it's glorious.

Here in Western New York, fall is taken for granted sometimes. We have beautiful fall foliage and picture-perfect settings for autumn; with amazing food.

One of the most anticipated dates Buffalonians look forward to is the opening date for Mayer Bros. Cider Mill.

On Monday, that date was announced.

Mayer Brothers announced that they will be reopening for their 170th season on August 3rd.

This means you can expect to see long lines, waiting for apple cider donuts, slushees and other goodies soon. Mayer Bros. Cider Mill is located on Seneca Creek Road near Transit, in West Seneca.

In other early fall news, The Haunted Forests in Newfane teased a potential opening in August as well, so it appears that Western New York residents will get early glimpses into what October has to offer this year.

I love summer...but fall is unmatched, especially early-to-mid October. That hoodie weather, fall foliage and the whole mystic of the fall season.
