Have you ever injured yourself to the point of needing medical attention? I did. As you can see in the picture, I sliced my finger open to the point of the requirement of stitches. Ouch!

The umbrella on the patio furniture was broken and now is held together with duct tape, and I’ll keep it that way. I attempted to repair it with a screw through the broken wood acting as a splint. The repair did not go so well. When the screw tip was popping through the wood threatening to tear into the fabric, I decided to try to saw it off. As I was sawing, the blade slide off the tip of the wood and into the tip of my finger nearly decapitating it. Right away I knew I needed stitches and, off to Urgent Care I went. But first I jotted across the street and asked my neighbor for help loading my 3 year old son into my car. Ugggg!

Fortunately my wife works at the medical center where I went so she grabbed Dylan while I got stitched up. I can still feel numbness in my fingertip reminding me daily, just buy a new umbrella or hire a pro to fix the broken one.
